Nature is hard to resist, however, so is our skin to bugs like mosquitoes! So if you want to get outside without being a human bug catcher, and you like to DIY, this simple recipe is great.
- Pure Lemon Oil
- Pure Eucalyptus Oil
- Pure Neem Oil
- Pure Citronella Oil
- Organic Coconut Oil
- Empty Spray Bottle (at least 4 oz. size)
The higher quality essential oils you buy, the more you will tend to spend, but 100% pure is best. In the end, the investment is worth it. Projects like this do not go close to using even a third of the whole bottle of each oil. Start by rinsing and drying your spray bottle to ensure it is clean. If you are in a warmer climate area this step doesn’t apply to you, but if you live in a cooler climate you will need to warm your coconut oil in a pan so it becomes a liquid. Spectrum Coconut Oil comes in a glass mason style jar that you can just put in a pan with a couple inches of water, saves having a dirty pan! Fill your spray bottle 3/4 of the way to full with coconut oil. Next, pour in 20 drops of Lemon Oil and of Citronella Oil. Pour in 10 drops of Neem Oil and of Eucalyptus Oil. This drop dosage is for a 4 oz. spray bottle, double for an 8 oz. spray bottle, or quadruple for a 16 oz spray bottle. Last, shake your spray bottle well. Spray onto your unclothed areas and rub in. Effects are immediate, and bugs should disperse! Repeat when needed. Pregnant women should not use unless discussed with their doctor. I hope you enjoy! Thanks All!!!
