DIY Lotus Tea Light Candle Holder

DSCN1204

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

  • Disposable Fruit Cup Container
  • Disposable Plastic Spoons (color optional, I bought mine at Dollar Tree)
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Hot Glue Sticks
  • Tea Light Candle
  • Razor Blade

Start by plugging in and warming up your hot glue gun. Next break your plastic spoons off at the handle. I used a razor blade to make an indent on the back of the spoon, and then snapped it with my fingers. It made a decently clean break after that.

This is with two layers of spoons glued on.

Start gluing your spoons nearest the top of your candle holder, facing up. Go around in a circle, until you can start on your next layer of spoons. Overall, mine came out with three and a half layers of spoons. Once you get to the bottom, if it comes out uneven, just use some extra hot glue to make an even surface.

After your bottom is all cool, you now have a new re-purposed lotus candle holder that is retro and mod to enjoy! This project took about an hour all together. Thanks All!
